Privacy policy

What we collect

• Your account: your name, your email address and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the profile picture they share.
• Your phone number, only if you add it to get texts when you're on the clock.
• What you do in your leagues: the leagues you create or join, your team names, your picks, the buy-ins your commissioner marks paid, and your settings.
• Premium purchases: which league was upgraded and when. Stripe handles the payment; we never see or store your card.
• Device and usage data: the pages you visit, the buttons you use, your IP address, your browser and device type, and the page or ad that first brought you here. We collect this with PostHog.
• Our email list: your email address if you join it, and whether you confirmed.

Cookies and pixels

We use cookies to keep you signed in, to remember your privacy choice, and for PostHog's analytics.

On our public pages (not inside the app, and not on invite or sign-in pages) we also load pixels from Meta, Google and Reddit. They tell those companies you visited, so we can measure our ads and show them to people likely to care. You can turn this off; see Your choices.

How we use it

• To run the game: leagues, drafts, scoring and standings.
• To send the emails, texts and push notifications you've asked for.
• To email you about Playoff Best Ball if you're on our list. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
• To understand how the site is used and fix what's broken.
• To measure our ads. When someone joins our list, creates a league or buys Premium, we tell Meta, Google and Reddit, along with the ad click it came from, the email address scrambled (hashed), the IP address and browser type, and the identifiers Meta's pixel sets, so they can match it to an ad.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information. We share it only with:

• Companies that run parts of the service for us: our hosting and database providers, PostHog (analytics), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Twilio (texts), Inngest (scheduled jobs), and Google and Apple (sign-in).
• Meta, Google and Reddit, to measure our ads as described above, unless you've turned that off.
• The other members of your league, who see your name, your team name, your picks and your scores.
• Anyone the law requires us to, or when it's needed to protect people or the service.
• Phone numbers and texting consent are never shared with anyone for their own marketing.

Your choices

• Turn off ad measurement on the Your privacy choices page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as the same choice. Visitors in the EU and EEA, the UK and Switzerland get no ad measurement at all.
• Leave our email list with the link in any list email, or in Settings.
• Stop texts by replying STOP, or turn them off in Settings.
• Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or the deletion of your account and data by emailing support@playoffbestball.com.

Your privacy choices

How long we keep it

We keep your account and league history while your account exists, so past seasons stay viewable. When you ask us to delete your account, we do it within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax or legal reasons, such as payment records. PostHog keeps analytics data under its own retention settings.

Age

Playoff Best Ball is for people 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you think someone younger has given us information, email support@playoffbestball.com and we'll delete it.

Your state privacy rights

Depending on where you live in the US, you may have the right to know what we hold about you, to correct or delete it, and to opt out of its use for targeted advertising. Use the Your privacy choices page, or email support@playoffbestball.com. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also email account holders.
